Bonneau du Martray – Singular Excellence in the Côte de Beaune
Pernand-Vergelesses • Corton Hill • Burgundy, France
The estate
A historic 11-hectare domaine exclusively producing Grand Cru Corton and Corton-Charlemagne wines. Located on the slopes of Corton hill (“En Charlemagne”, “Le Charlemagne”), it is the largest estate in the Côte de Beaune dedicated solely to these prestigious appellations.
Terroir & philosophy
A mosaic of limestone, marl and sand soils with west-facing exposure, allowing slow, even ripening. Certified organic and biodynamic viticulture, parcel-by-parcel precision, pursuit of purity.
Winemaking & ageing
- Fermentation with indigenous yeasts, parcels vinified separately.
- Ageing on fine lees in barrels and foudres (up to 30% new oak).
- Extended élevage (15 to 18 months depending on vintage).
- Owned since 2017 by Stanley Kroenke, preserving its historic style.
Style & tasting
- Corton-Charlemagne: tension, precision and salinity, excellent ageing potential.
- Corton red: refined structure, precise red fruit, mineral backbone.
