Founded in 1141, Clos de Tart is one of only ten Grands Crus in the Côte d’Or cultivated as a monopole — an extremely rare status in Burgundy. This 7.5-hectare Grand Cru, located in Morey-Saint-Denis, embodies the very essence of Pinot Noir with a level of purity and finesse that is nothing short of exceptional.
Shaped by centuries of viticultural heritage, Clos de Tart has entered a new chapter since its acquisition by Artémis Domaines (Mommessin family) in 2017. Tradition, meticulous vineyard work, and precise modern winemaking come together to elevate this legendary terroir to new heights.
The vineyard rests on complex soils of white marl and clay-limestone marl with a southeast exposure that ensures even ripening and exceptional aromatic finesse.

Fermentations are slow, carried out in thermo-regulated stainless steel or wooden vats to preserve the integrity of the fruit and aromatic purity.
Ageing lasts 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, around 60% of which are new, providing structure and elegance without overpowering the terroir.
Clos de Tart seduces with its balance of contained power and grace. It typically reaches its peak between 8 and 12 years, with a cellaring potential of 30 to 40 years in great vintages.
