Founded in 1880 in Beaune, Maison Joseph Drouhin stands as one of Burgundy’s most respected and influential wine estates. Led today by the fourth generation — Frédéric, Philippe, Laurent and Véronique Drouhin — the family has upheld its heritage with precision and passion for over 140 years.
With nearly 100 hectares of vineyards across Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations, the estate blends Burgundian tradition with a pioneering international outlook, notably through its early expansion into Oregon (USA).
History & Philosophy
Originally a négociant, Joseph Drouhin began acquiring vineyards in the 1920s, including the prestigious Clos des Mouches in Beaune. Over the decades, the estate has built a remarkable portfolio of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards across the Côte d’Or.
Faithful to a philosophy of sustainability, the domaine practices organic and biodynamic viticulture across all its holdings. Each cuvée is crafted through meticulous parcel-by-parcel vinification, hand harvesting, moderate yields and precise ageing, to reflect the unique identity of each climate with authenticity and elegance.
