A Family Story Rooted in the Rhône

Established in 1973 by Aimé Sabon, Domaine de la Janasse is located in Courthézon, on some of the most prestigious soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Today, the estate is run by Isabelle and Christophe Sabon, who continue to combine tradition, precision and innovation.

Exceptional Terroirs of Stones and Sand

The estate covers more than 90 hectares, including around 15 ha in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with an impressive diversity of terroirs: rolled pebbles from La Crau, sandy soils from Chapouin, plus limestone and sandstone parcels. This mosaic allows for a meticulous parcel-by-parcel vinification.

Grenache Noir (some vines over 100 years old) is the dominant variety, complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and a selection of white Rhône varieties. The estate is farmed sustainably and is in conversion to organic certification.

Precision and Artisan Winemaking

• Manual harvesting and partial destemming depending on the vintage.
• Long macerations in concrete or stainless-steel tanks.
• Tailored élevage: tanks for fruit purity, foudres and demi-muids for structure, minimal new oak.

• Red wines: powerful yet balanced by great freshness, silky tannins and floral lift.
• White wines: generous texture, vibrant minerality and notable ageing potential.
