Siepi 2016 – Marchesi Mazzei
A Tuscan icon combining power, elegance and depth
Terroir
The Siepi vineyard is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico, on perfectly exposed hillside slopes. The soils, mainly composed of galestro and alberese, provide finesse, structure and aromatic complexity. The Mediterranean climate, combined with significant day–night temperature variations, ensures slow and balanced ripening of both Sangiovese and Merlot, allowing a pure and expressive interpretation of the terroir.
Tasting Notes
Appearance & Nose:
Deep, intense ruby colour. The nose is refined and concentrated, offering aromas of ripe dark fruits (black cherry, blackberry), layered with spice, tobacco, cedar and fine oak.
Palate & Finish:
The palate is full-bodied, structured and beautifully balanced, supported by silky, well-integrated tannins and vibrant freshness. The texture is dense yet elegant. The finish is long, persistent and harmonious, highlighting the wine’s excellent ageing potential.
