Château Figeac 2016 – Magnum OWC
An exceptional Saint-Émilion: freshness, depth and Cabernet nobility
Terroir
Château Figeac holds a distinctive position in Saint-Émilion thanks to its deep gravel soils, a rare feature on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. This singular terroir allows for a significant proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc in the blend, giving the wine structure, freshness and elegance that clearly set it apart from more Merlot-dominated profiles.
The 2016 vintage is one of the estate’s major modern successes. It combines precise fruit maturity with a straight, deep and beautifully balanced structure. Presented in magnum in original wooden case, this Château Figeac 2016 is a particularly sought-after format, ideal for long-term cellaring and for collectors of fine Bordeaux wines.
Tasting notes
Nose:
The bouquet stands out for its precision and depth, with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, violet, graphite, cedar and fine spices. The whole expression reveals a refined, fresh and noble interpretation of Figeac’s terroir.
Palate & Finish:
The palate is broad, structured and remarkably balanced, carried by fine tannins, beautiful tension and deep substance. The finish is long, fresh and persistent, marked by dark fruit, graphite, cedar and an elegant mineral dimension.
