A benchmark from the Douro Valley, Niepoort’s Vintage 2003 (bottled in 2005) combines depth with freshness. Opaque colour. Nose of blackberry, blackcurrant and plum, layered with cocoa, sweet spice and a faint floral lift. Broad palate, firm yet fine tannins, long savoury finish. Decant to reveal its full complexity. A great cellar-worthy Port.
