Blankiet Estate – Paradise Hills Vineyard Proprietary Red 2018
A flagship Napa Valley blend from Blankiet Estate, expressing the character of the Paradise Hills Vineyard through depth, structure and refined elegance.
Terroir & vineyard
Blankiet Estate is located in Yountville, in the heart of Napa Valley, on the western foothills of the Mayacamas Range. The Paradise Hills Vineyard benefits from a sheltered microclimate with warm days and cool evenings influenced by marine breezes from San Pablo Bay, promoting slow, even ripening.
The estate’s hillside soils are typically described as rocky and well-drained, with volcanic and sedimentary components that encourage deep root penetration and naturally low yields. These conditions contribute to concentrated fruit, firm structure and the capacity for long aging.
The Proprietary Red is a Bordeaux-style blend, usually led by Cabernet Sauvignon and complemented by other Bordeaux varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The 2018 vintage in Napa Valley is widely regarded as balanced and structured, favoring wines with freshness, precision and aging potential.
