Terroir & vineyard

Blankiet Estate lies in Yountville, at the heart of the Napa Valley, on the western foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains. The estate’s Paradise Hills Vineyard enjoys a sheltered microclimate with warm days and cool evenings influenced by breezes from San Pablo Bay, allowing for gradual ripening and preservation of acidity.

The hillside soils are described as rocky and well-drained, with volcanic and sedimentary elements that encourage deep root systems and naturally low yields. These conditions favor concentration, refined tannins and strong aging potential.

The Rive Droite cuvée is inspired by Bordeaux’s Right Bank and is typically based on Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and other Bordeaux varieties depending on the vintage. The 2018 Napa Valley vintage is widely regarded as balanced, producing wines with freshness, structure and harmony.

Tasting notes

Nose:
Elegant and layered, with aromas of plum, black cherry and blackberry, alongside notes of cocoa, graphite, cedar and subtle sweet spices from oak aging.

Palate:
Silky and refined, with polished tannins and a supple texture. Dark fruit flavors are framed by freshness and mineral tension, delivering balance between richness and finesse.

Finish:
Long and harmonious, marked by fine spice, dark fruit persistence and a touch of graphite. A poised Napa Valley red with notable aging potential.
