The Beckstoffer To Kalon vineyard, located in Oakville, is one of California’s most famous terroirs for Cabernet Sauvignon. Set on Oakville’s western bench, it benefits from well-drained soils, often described as gravelly and loamy, capable of producing tannins that are both powerful and refined. Nose: spectacular, dense and luxurious, with crème de cassis, blackberry, blueberry, stewed black fruits, dark chocolate, espresso, barbecue smoke, toasted oak, vanilla, baking spices, incense and a touch of warm earth. Despite its aromatic power, the whole remains remarkably precise.

Palate: enormous, broad and velvety, with a very powerful body but no heaviness. Black and blue fruit coats the palate, carried by creamy tannins, expansive texture and great depth. Notes of chocolate, roasted coffee, smoke, spice, cassis and blackberry stretch across a very long, dense, polished and persistent finish, without marked astringency.
