An iconic Chilean wine, Seña 2017 beautifully expresses the identity of a great Aconcagua Valley blend: depth, freshness, fine tannins and aromatic intensity, in a style that is both generous, precise and remarkably balanced.

Terroir & parcels

The Seña vineyard is located in the Aconcagua Valley, approximately 40 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. Planted on hillside slopes covering around 42 hectares, it benefits from a crucial maritime influence that moderates temperatures and preserves freshness and aromatic precision.

The soils are a mosaic of volcanic and colluvial origins, poor and well-drained, encouraging deep root systems and a nuanced expression of the blend. The estate is farmed according to biodynamic principles, with a strong focus on vineyard balance and parcel-by-parcel precision.

The 2017 vintage, warm and early with low yields, produced concentrated and ripe fruit. The blend is composed of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec, 15% Carmenere, 10% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot, aged for around 22 months, mainly in French oak barrels.

Tasting notes

Nose:
Intense and refined, with aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry, complemented by notes of cedar, sandalwood, black tea, sweet spices and a subtle floral touch.

Palate:
Broad, deep and structured, with very fine tannins and a silky texture. Ripe dark fruit unfolds with clarity, supported by freshness, a subtle mineral backbone and remarkable precision for a warm vintage.

Finish:
Long, elegant and persistent, marked by dark fruit, spices, a slight balsamic note and a saline freshness that brings energy and length. A complete and harmonious Seña with excellent aging potential.
