Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé 2008
This Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé 2008 embodies a refined, structured and gastronomic expression of vintage rosé Champagne. Produced from a great vintage of freshness and precision, it combines the power of Pinot Noir, the elegance of Chardonnay and the complexity of a rosé Champagne now entering a beautiful phase of maturity.
Built around a Pinot Noir-dominant blend, with a proportion of red wine from Bouzy, this Champagne brings together energy, red fruit, chalky tension and vinous depth. The 2008 vintage gives it a fresh and precise structure, while bottle ageing gradually reveals notes of brioche, fine spices, dried fruits and candied citrus.
Terroir: Champagne, Pinot Noir and the freshness of 2008
A historic house founded in Reims in 1772, Veuve Clicquot has built its style around a strong presence of Pinot Noir. In this Vintage Rosé 2008, the blend brings together 61% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay and 5% Meunier, completed by 14% red Pinot Noir wine from Bouzy.
Pinot Noir brings structure, intensity and aromatic depth, while Chardonnay lengthens the wine with freshness and precision. The 2008 vintage, recognised in Champagne for its tension and ageing potential, gives here a rosé that is energetic, elegant and particularly well suited to fine dining.
Tasting notes
Appearance: deep rosé with coppery and orange reflections, showing fine mousse, elegant effervescence and attractive visual brightness.
Nose: expressive and nuanced, with strawberry, raspberry, cherry, pink grapefruit, blood orange, cinnamon and vanilla. With evolution, notes of brioche, dried fruits, sweet spices, orange zest and a delicate toasted touch appear.
Palate: fresh, linear and vinous, with fine intensity of red fruit, precise acidity and a delicately structured texture. The finish is long, elegant and persistent, carried by citrus, red berries, fine spices and a discreet chalky minerality.
