Meursault Perrières Premier Cru 2023 — Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey
This Meursault Perrières Premier Cru 2023 from Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey embodies one of the most sought-after expressions of Chardonnay on the Côte de Beaune. Sourced from one of Meursault’s most prestigious climats, it combines the natural depth of Perrières with the taut, precise and intensely mineral signature of the domaine.
The 2023 vintage gives here a wine that is concentrated, luminous and remarkably energetic. Ripe fruit richness is held by a clear chalky and saline frame, with aromas of pear, lemon, white flowers, dried nuts, fresh bread, wet stone and a long, tense and deeply Burgundian finish.
Terroir: Perrières, the mineral tension of Meursault
Perrières is often regarded as one of the noblest climats of Meursault, renowned for producing wines that are straighter, stonier and more tension-driven than the richer expressions of the appellation. At Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, this identity translates into a very pure reading of the site: energy, salinity, straightness, satin texture and great persistence.
The cuvée comes from old vines located in the lower part of the climat, a sector that naturally retains good water reserves. This soil depth brings substance and presence, while the PYCM winemaking style preserves Chardonnay tension, aromatic brightness and mineral precision.
Tasting notes
Appearance: pale yellow with golden and green reflections, brilliant and luminous, with a very youthful intensity that reflects the freshness of the vintage.
Nose: precise and refined, with pear, yellow apple, lemon, citrus zest, white flowers, fresh almond, toasted hazelnut, fresh bread and a lightly smoky touch. With aeration, nuances of chalk, wet stone, fine butter, ginger and discreet pastry may appear.
Palate: ample, satin-textured and very pure, with deep substance, precise acidity and strong mineral tension. The wine combines white fruits, citrus, dried nuts, very fine toasted notes and chalky salinity, leading to a long, straight, vibrant and intensely saline finish.
