Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru "Le Grand Maupertui" 2023 — Domaine Anne Gros
The Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru "Le Grand Maupertui" 2023 is one of the flagship wines of Domaine Anne Gros. Sourced from a historic parcel in the upper section of the Clos, just below Grands Échezeaux, it captures everything that makes great Clos de Vougeot so compelling: depth, precision, elegance and exceptional ageing potential.
The 2023 vintage combines generous fruit with remarkable freshness and finely sculpted tannins. Rich without excess, it offers outstanding balance, impressive concentration and a sense of effortless harmony that reflects both the quality of the vintage and the pedigree of this exceptional site.
Le Grand Maupertui, one of Clos de Vougeot's finest sites
The Le Grand Maupertui parcel extends over approximately 0.94 hectares and has been in the Gros family for generations. Planted in 1904, these old vines lie in one of the most sought-after sectors of Clos de Vougeot, benefiting from deep clay-limestone soils and an ideal position directly below Grands Échezeaux.
Produced exclusively from 100% Pinot Noir, the wine is matured in French oak barrels, with around 40% new oak, allowing the fruit and vineyard character to remain at the forefront. Anne Gros consistently favours refinement, precision and purity over extraction, resulting in wines of remarkable elegance.
