Barolo Rocche dell’Annunziata Riserva 2016 – Paolo Scavino
An exceptional Nebbiolo from La Morra, combining power, finesse and remarkable ageing potential
Terroir
The Rocche dell’Annunziata cru is one of the most prestigious sites in La Morra, at the heart of the Barolo appellation. The vines are planted on calcareous marls rich in clay, giving the Nebbiolo great aromatic finesse while preserving structure and complexity. Ideal exposure and slow ripening result in wines of depth, elegance and longevity. The Riserva bottling benefits from extended ageing, adding further precision and nobility.
Tasting Notes
Appearance & Nose:
Deep garnet colour with brick highlights. The nose is intense and complex, offering aromas of black cherry, plum and dried rose, layered with notes of liquorice, spice, truffle and balsamic nuances.
Palate & Finish:
The palate is full-bodied, powerful and beautifully structured, supported by fine, noble tannins and vibrant freshness. The texture is dense yet elegant and highly expressive. The finish is very long, persistent and harmonious, highlighting the wine’s exceptional ageing potential.
