Terroir
Located in the northern sector of Nuits-Saint-Georges, near Vosne-Romanée, La Petite Charmotte sits on light clay-limestone soils that yield unusually refined expressions of Pinot Noir. The vines are farmed with the utmost precision under Charles Lachaux’s natural, terroir-driven philosophy — long pruning, whole-cluster fermentation, and low yields designed to capture the vineyard’s true identity.
Tasting Notes
The nose displays striking purity, with aromas of peony, fresh raspberry, and redcurrant, lifted by hints of black tea and gentle spice. On the palate, it is delicate, vibrant, and intensely precise, framed by ultra-fine tannins. The finish is long, mineral, and graceful, recalling wet stone, dried rose, and chalk, in perfect harmony between energy and sensuality.
