Ceretto — a benchmark name in the Langhe, where terroir, art and precision meet
Founded in the 1930s by Riccardo Ceretto in Alba, Ceretto has become one of the most iconic names in the Langhe. The estate’s rise began with Bruno and Marcello Ceretto, pioneers of an avant-garde, parcel-based approach in the most prestigious crus of Barolo and Barbaresco. Today, the third generation — Lisa, Roberta, Alessandro and Federico — continues this legacy with a contemporary vision: organic viticulture, architectural landmarks, and a constant dialogue between wine, nature and art.
Philosophy & Viticulture
Ceretto’s philosophy is built on precision, purity and respect for each terroir. Vineyard and cellar practices include:
- Low yields,
- Indigenous fermentations,
- Carefully calibrated élevage,
- Organic certification across the entire vineyard.
Each cuvée is designed to highlight the identity of its cru, offer a clear reading of the terroir and express aromatic finesse. The goal is to craft elegant, transparent wines deeply rooted in their place of origin.
Terroirs & Vineyards
The estate farms over 120 hectares across the finest terroirs of the Langhe:
- Bricco Asili (Barbaresco)
- Bricco Rocche, Brunate, Prapò (Barolo)
- Monsordo Bernardina (Barbera, Dolcetto, Arneis)
Each parcel is vinified separately, allowing the singularity of each cru to shine and revealing the full typicity of Nebbiolo, the region’s noble grape.
Signature Wines
- Barbaresco Bricco Asili — floral delicacy and subtle depth.
- Barolo Bricco Rocche — noble minerality and racy length.
- Barolo Brunate / Prapò — structure, intensity and layered complexity.
- Arneis Blangé — iconic Piedmont white, fresh and expressive.
- Monsordo Rosso — a modern, fruit-driven and balanced blend.
Wine Style
Ceretto wines embody natural elegance, precision and excellent ageing potential. Nebbiolo is showcased in all its brilliance: silky tannins, controlled freshness, mineral backbone and refined aromatic complexity. These are wines that reflect the family’s philosophy — excellence, transparency and a culture of beauty — making Ceretto a defining signature of Piedmont.
