Based in Ampuis, in the heart of the legendary Côte-Rôtie, Domaine Stéphane Ogier has emerged over the last two decades as a leading voice of the Rhône’s new generation. Since returning to the family estate in the early 2000s, Stéphane Ogier has championed a remarkably pure style: silky, precise, and expressive wines where terroir takes center stage. The domaine now works a mosaic of plots, primarily in Côte-Rôtie, but also in Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, and further south in the Collines Rhodaniennes and IGP Vaucluse.

Philosophy & Winemaking

The approach is resolutely parcel-based: each plot is harvested and vinified separately to preserve its identity.

• Sustainable viticulture, manual harvest, meticulous sorting.
• Spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts.
• Gentle macerations, controlled extraction to preserve fruit energy.
• Extended aging (up to 18–24 months) in French oak barrels with a moderate proportion of new oak.

Wine Style

The red wines express Syrah in its purest and most precise form:

• dark and red fruit, delicate spices, violet,
• silky texture, refined tannins,
• elongated finish, controlled energy.

In Côte-Rôtie, the wines combine intensity with floral elegance. In white, especially in Condrieu, the Viognier shows rich maturity balanced by rare mineral tension for the appellation.

The blends from IGP Vaucluse or Collines Rhodaniennes offer a more approachable style while retaining the house signature: freshness, clarity, and drinkability.
