With origins dating back to the 14th century, Domaine de Marcoux is today carried by Catherine and Sophie Armenier, two visionary sisters who profoundly shaped modern Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Early pioneers of biodynamic farming in the 1990s, they crafted a signature style defined by the finesse of Grenache, vibrancy, purity of fruit and an exceptional expression of terroir. Trained as an oenologist, Sophie Armenier played a key role in this evolution, implementing a gentle, precise and non-interventionist approach to winemaking.

Terroirs & old vines

The estate covers 18 ha in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and 8 ha in Lirac, spread over prestigious lieux-dits such as Charbonnières, Gallimardes and Les Esquirons. The soils — rolled pebbles, fine sands, red clays and limestones — form a remarkable geological mosaic, allowing for nuanced and expressive blends.
