Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot – Vosne-Romanée, precision & terroir
Vosne-Romanée • Côte de Nuits • Burgundy, France — Managed by Yves Confuron (with Jean-Pierre Confuron)
The estate
A family rooted in Vosne-Romanée for generations, the domaine cultivates around 12 hectares of Pinot Noir spread across Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin. The philosophy emphasizes ripe fruit, vineyard expression and minimal intervention.
Philosophy & winemaking
- Vineyards farmed without herbicides, close observation of natural cycles, low yields.
- Late harvesting to ensure full phenolic maturity.
- Fermentation with indigenous yeasts, whole-cluster vinification, long and gentle macerations.
- Extended ageing in barrels with very little new oak; no fining or filtration.
Style & tasting
- Firm, structured wines built for long ageing, with precise fruit and a strong sense of place.
- Dense yet noble textures: youthful austerity that evolves into remarkable complexity.
