Domaine Faiveley — Nuits-Saint-Georges, Bourgogne

Two centuries of Burgundian excellence, rooted in family heritage and forward-thinking innovation.

History & Family

Founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s largest and most prestigious family-owned estates. For seven generations, the Faiveley family has combined a respect for tradition with a commitment to innovation. Today, Erwan and Eve Faiveley lead the domaine with precision and vision, extending its reputation for Burgundian excellence worldwide.

This rare continuity of family stewardship is reflected in a strong identity and a relentless pursuit of quality.

An Exceptional Vineyard Heritage

The domaine covers 134 hectares across the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, including numerous Premier Cru and Grand Cru sites, as well as several prestigious monopoles. This extraordinary heritage reflects the depth and diversity of Burgundy’s finest terroirs.

  • Chambertin-Clos de Bèze — legendary Grand Cru, ample and complex.
  • Musigny — dazzling aromatic finesse and elegance.
  • Clos de Vougeot — a classic, structured signature.
  • Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley (Monopole) — depth and remarkable ageing potential.

  • Mercurey “La Framboisière” (Monopole) — charming and approachable Pinot Noir.

Terroir, Viticulture & Winemaking

Domaine Faiveley emphasizes sustainable viticulture, with a progressive conversion to organic farming. Harvesting is entirely manual, and each parcel is managed with rigorous precision to respect the identity of its terroir.

Winemaking combines traditional techniques with modern precision:

  • Gentle macerations
  • Delicate extractions
  • Long ageing in carefully selected French oak barrels

This approach yields wines of elegance, precision and depth — faithful to their origin and built for longevity.

Style of the Wines

  • Red wines — elegant, structured and profound, with aromas of black fruit, spice and forest floor. A silky texture reveals the full nobility of Pinot Noir.
  • White wines — precise and mineral, with floral, citrus and flinty notes. Their balance of freshness and length showcases the purity of great Chardonnay terroirs.
