Appearance
Bright ruby red with crystalline clarity and youthful garnet reflections.
Nose
Precise and expressive, opening on crisp red berries (sour cherry, raspberry, redcurrant), followed by delicate floral notes (dried rose, peony) and subtle undertones of fresh earth, gentle spice and the iron-tinged minerality typical of this climat.
Palate
Silky and vibrant attack with fine, powder-like tannins. The Lachaux signature appears in the fluid, airy texture — no harsh extraction, just purity and tension. The mid-palate is linear and energetic, carried by a saline backbone and a stony length. Long, refined finish with echoes of cherry pit, spice and wet limestone.
Terroir
“Les Valozières” lies at the foot of the Corton slope, on brown clay soils mixed with limestone scree and traces of iron. This combination gives wines with both flesh and nerve, marked by a distinctive mineral edge. The absence of new oak and single-parcel vinification allow the terroir to speak with rare clarity.
Style & Aging
A modern, elegant interpretation of Aloxe-Corton: vibrant, digestible, free of oak heaviness. Already charming, but structured for 10–15 years of graceful development.
