The Ornellaia estate was created in 1981 and is located near Bolgheri, in Tuscany. Since 2005, this cult estate has been entirely owned by the Tuscan wine dynasty Frescobaldi.       

Thanks to its proximity to the sea and its protection by the surrounding hills, it benefits from exceptional conditions for grape ripening.

Ornellaia was first produced with the 1985 vintage.

The harvest is done manually and the best bunches are selected.

Its second wine, "Le Volte dell'Ornellaia", unlike Ornellaia, includes a substantial portion of Sangiovese.
