A classic vintage of Ornellaia, 1999 reflects a beautifully balanced growing season and showcases the finesse of the Bolgheri terroir. Founded by Lodovico Antinori in 1981, the estate lies near the Tuscan coast and is renowned for its Bordeaux-style blends.
Grapes were harvested manually and fermented in stainless steel before 18 months of barrel aging (70 % new French oak). This vintage delivers a rich, velvety structure and mature aromatics.
Nose: Blackcurrant, black plum, leather, cedar, tobacco, dark chocolate and licorice.
Palate: Silky and deep, with ripe tannins and lingering freshness. The finish is long and nuanced, showing truffle, balsamic and spice undertones.
