Syrah du Valais Cayas Reserve 2015 - Jean-René Germanier (magnum, 1.5 L)

"The dark colored 2015 Syrah du Valais Réserve Cayas is perfectly ripe, intense and deep on the nose, provided with dark fruit, port, raw dark meat and clove aromas plus a touch of nougat. This is a gorgeous red that was selected from about ten plots, all of them—obviously—at the same time. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, round, elegant, silky textured, stunningly fresh, finessed and powerful Syrah with fine tannins (also from the oak), mineral as well as terroir-driven tension and lingering salinity. It is so pure on the finish, so I guess it will end as one of the best Cayas in history."
