Avvoltore 1997 - Morisfarms

"Avvoltore is the company’s “flagship” wine. The grapes are collected from vineyards planted on the “Poggio dell’Avvoltore” hill.

"From one of southern Tuscany's most superb estates, this blend of 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 75% Sangiovese, and 5% Syrah is aged for 12 months in French oak casks. Sadly, there are only 200 cases produced, but readers lucky enough to latch onto a bottle or two are in for a spectacular drinking experience. The wine's opaque purple color is followed by a sweet nose of minerals, white truffles, black raspberries, and cherry jam."
