Domaine Vietti – A Historic Estate in the Heart of the Langhe

A Barolo legend, pioneer of single-vineyard vinification and guardian of Piedmont’s native grapes.

A Pioneering Legacy in the Langhe

Founded in the late 19th century in Castiglione Falletto, at the heart of the Langhe, Domaine Vietti is one of Piedmont’s most iconic names. Under the leadership of Mario Vietti and the visionary Alfredo Currado, the estate transformed the history of modern Barolo by vinifying its first single-vineyard cru in 1961 — Rocche di Castiglione — and reviving the native white grape Arneis in 1967.

In 2016, the Krause family took over, opening a new chapter: expanding the estate’s vineyard holdings, developing new cuvées, and reinforcing an identity that combines respect for tradition with a forward-looking vision.

Terroir & Grape Varieties

The estate now covers around 75 hectares spread across the rolling hills of Langhe, Roero, Asti, and the Colli Tortonesi. Its calcareous marl and clay soils give the wines depth, structure and great longevity.
