PIPER-HEIDSIECK — REIMS

Energy, precision & modernity at the heart of a great Champagne House

Founded in 1785 in Reims, Piper-Heidsieck belongs to the circle of historic Champagne houses, recognised for their assertive style and consistently high quality. Under the direction of Émilien Boutillat since 2018, the House has undergone a renaissance driven by the pursuit of purity, balance and sustainability, supported by its integration into the EPI luxury group. Its identity is rooted in an energetic, structured and precise expression of Pinot Noir, the backbone of its style.

Terroirs & selection of crus

Piper-Heidsieck relies on a vast mosaic of 100+ crus sourced across the entire Champagne region. This diversity offers great freedom in blending and allows for a nuanced interpretation of each grape variety:

  • Pinot Noir for structure, energy and depth,
  • Chardonnay for tension and floral elegance,
  • Meunier for suppleness and roundness.

The sourcing includes key villages from the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne, enriching the aromatic complexity of each cuvée.

Philosophy & sustainable commitment

The House embraces a resolutely modern vision, combining Champagne tradition with ecological transition. Its environmental engagement has been recognised through B Corp certification, one of the most demanding worldwide. This approach translates into:

  • carefully selected viticultural practices,
  • close collaboration with partner growers,
  • a commitment to transparency and reduced environmental impact.

This philosophy drives the evolution of the House style — sharper, more balanced and purity-driven.

Winemaking: precision & consistency

The savoir-faire of Piper-Heidsieck relies on an approach centred on freshness, balance and aromatic clarity:

  • assemblages incorporating a high proportion of reserve wines,
  • fermentation in stainless steel to preserve purity,
  • minimum 24 months on lees for non-vintage bruts,
  • precise and moderate dosage for clean, expressive aromatics.

The resulting wines display bright tension, precise structure and an aromatic palette marked by citrus, white fruit and delicate brioche notes.

House style

  • vibrant energy with citrus and white-flower aromatics,
  • dynamic structure shaped by Pinot Noir,
  • subtle toasted notes from lees ageing,
  • an elongated, crisp and elegant texture.

A contemporary, precise and expressive style, equally suited to gastronomy and connoisseurship.
