Pauillac – Médoc, Bordeaux

Château Lynch-Bages — the essence of Pauillac, where Bordeaux tradition meets modern refinement

A symbol of power and elegance, Château Lynch-Bages has embodied the excellence of Pauillac for decades. This historic estate, owned by the Cazes family since 1939, blends a prestigious winemaking heritage with a contemporary, precise approach to viticulture. Today, Jean-Charles and Jean-Michel Cazes lead the estate alongside Technical Director Sarah Leconte and an exceptional oenological team, crafting wines of remarkable depth, structure, aromatic intensity and finesse.

Terroir

Located in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, the vineyard of Château Lynch-Bages spans 90 hectares of deep Garonne gravel resting on a limestone base mixed with clay and sand. This exceptional terroir allows deep rooting and optimal ripening, giving the wines their velvety texture and aromatic intensity.

Philosophy & winemaking

The estate is committed to sustainable viticulture, respecting both soil structure and natural balances. Ground cover is carefully managed to encourage biodiversity and prevent erosion. Harvesting is done both manually and mechanically depending on the vintage, with extremely rigorous sorting.

Each plot is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, preserving purity and aromatic precision. The wines are aged for 18 to 20 months in French oak barrels, with around 70% new oak, bringing depth, complexity and impressive ageing potential.

Signature cuvées

Château Lynch-Bages (Grand Vin)
A Pauillac of outstanding structure, showing cassis, graphite, cedar and spice. The powerful yet silky tannins support long cellaring — up to 25 years for great vintages.

Echo de Lynch-Bages (Second Wine)
The estate’s second wine, sourced from younger vines and selected plots. More approachable in its youth, it retains the Lynch-Bages signature with elegant fruit and refined texture.

Pauillac de Lynch-Bages (Third Wine)
Fresh, supple and immediate, ideal for discovering the estate’s style without extended cellaring.
