History — Transmission & Renaissance

Born from the division of the vast Léoville estate in the early 19th century, Léoville Poyferré was acquired in 1920 by the Cuvelier family, historic wine merchants from Northern France. Under the direction of Didier Cuvelier, followed by Sara Lecompte Cuvelier, the estate experienced a spectacular rise, becoming one of the leading references of modern Médoc.
