Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru — The Aerial Nobility of Puligny

The Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru AOC, located in the prestigious commune of Puligny-Montrachet, is one of the most treasured jewels among Burgundy’s great white wines. Covering just 7.59 hectares, this exceptional vineyard produces around 38,500 bottles per year — wines of rare quality and extraordinary refinement.

Terroir and History

The name Chevalier-Montrachet dates back to the Middle Ages, when the Lord of Puligny granted this parcel to his eldest son, known as the “Chevalier.” Perched on the upper slopes of the Montrachet hill, the vineyard benefits from ideal exposure and exceptional limestone soils, endowing the wines with a chiselled minerality and remarkable depth.

Style and Tasting Profile

Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru wines are defined by a more pronounced minerality than Montrachet, with greater richness than Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet. They reveal delicate floral aromas, subtle white fruit notes and a refined, layered structure, making them particularly well suited for long aging.

Grape Variety

These wines are crafted exclusively from Chardonnay, a noble grape variety that here reaches an expression of rare precision, finesse and purity.

Food Pairings

  • Delicate seafood
  • Fish with fine sauces
  • Creamy poultry dishes
  • Refined French cuisine

A Symbol of Elegance

A Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru embodies the aerial nobility of Puligny: finesse, precision, depth and luminous minerality. Each bottle reflects the grandeur of a legendary terroir and the timeless purity of Burgundy’s greatest whites.
