Domaine Georges Noëllat, located in the heart of Burgundy, is a hidden gem known for producing exceptional wines from some of the region’s most prestigious terroirs. The domaine was founded by Georges Noëllat, nephew of Charles Noëllat, once the proprietor of one of Vosne-Romanée’s greatest domaines, which contributed to the establishment of Jean-Jacques Confuron, Hudelot Noëllat, and the vast majority of Domaine Leroy. Today, Domaine Georges Noëllat remains a small but mighty operation, with just 5.5 hectares of vineyards, yet it boasts some of the most profound terroirs in Vosne-Romanée and northern Nuits-Saint-Georges.
The domaine is fully committed to biodynamic viticulture, which ensures that every bottle produced reflects the true essence of its land. Their portfolio includes Grand Crus and Premier Crus such as Grands Échezeaux and Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts, known for their exceptional quality and complex aromatic profiles. The use of indigenous yeasts and fermentation in oak barrels further enhances the purity, elegance, and depth of the wines.
Tasting these wines reveals an intricate balance of black fruit aromas, including blackberry and cherry, complemented by floral hints of violet and delicate spices. The palate is refined, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, persistent finish. These wines are well-suited for aging, with a longevity potential of 10 to 20 years or more, making them a perfect addition to any high-end wine collection.

Giovanni Conterno was the son of Giacomo Contero, who was born in 1895 and after whom the estate is named. Giacomo had been producing and bottling Monfortino since the 1920s.
Cascina Francia, the source of all the grapes for Monfortino, lies at up to 450 metres in the village of Monfortino along the border with Monforte, and opposite the celebrated Ginestra vineyard in the latter.
Monfortino is not a selection of the best barrels, but a parcel selection made shortly before the harvest. The best pracels can vary from year to year. Only when their quality is significantly superior to the rest of Cascina Fancia is the selection vinified separately, in open-top vats.
Gialdi Vini SA was founded in 1953.
Gialdi Vini’s commitment to producing only the very best terroir wines has made the company a leader among Ticino winemakers.
The Case Basse Estate was founded in 1972. His wines are widely regarded as Brunello’s Holy Grail.
While the modern-era Montalcino has seen a rush to French barrique and less time in wood, Soldera continues to age his Brunello for five years in large Slavonian oak tanks and vats.
At their best Soldera's Brunellos have a level of armoatic complexity, sweet fruit, and overall balance breathtaking.
Columbu is one of the last producers of Malvasia di Bosa. There are only 50 hectares of vines still cultivated near Bosa for this kind of wine. Columbu controls only a handful of those hectares.
Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio is one of the most prestigious producers in the Barolo region, founded in 1881 and currently run by Giuseppe Mascarello, representing the fourth generation of the family. The estate is widely recognized for the quality of its wines, consistently receiving accolades from renowned guides such as Gambero Rosso (3 Bicchieri), Vino di Eccellenza (L’Espresso Vini d’Italia), and Slow Food (Vino Slow from Slowine).
The estate owns vineyards on some of Barolo’s most famous crus, including Monprivato. The Barolo Monprivato, the estate's flagship wine, comes from a unique plot in Castiglione Falletto, benefiting from an ideal southwest-facing exposure. This wine is the epitome of elegance and complexity, offering aromas of ripe fruit, flowers, and spicy nuances that evolve with time.
The estate remains committed to traditional Barolo winemaking methods, with long maturation in oak barrels, but with a modern approach that allows each vintage to express the richness and depth of its terroir. The wines of Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio are known for their structure, elegance, and exceptional aging potential.
Giuseppe Rinaldi is one of the key figures of the Barolo movement.
He inherited the role from his father Battista, a stern, strong character who served as mayor of the town of Barolo from 1970 to 1975.
Giuseppe himself, also known as Beppe, passed on the torch to his daughters Marta and Carlotta, who are eager to continue their father’s work.
Since 1993 the winery has been producing two pairs of different blends out of grapes from the estate’s own historic vineyards: Brunate and Le Coste on one side (today’s featured wine), Cannubi San Lorenzo and Ravera on the other.
These two wines are sold only 10 years after the original harvest, effectively making them special reserves. For the aging of wine, only Slavonian oak 30 – 60 hl barrels are employed, as the traditional, time-honored method forbids the use of smaller barrels.
Glen Grant is one of Speyside's most recognised distilleries. It was built in 1839 by James and John Grant, and was a huge facility for its time. Its size increased exponentially over time, in the hands of John's son, John "The Major" Grant (who also built the short-lived Caperdonich next-door), and twice in the 1970s following the merger with The Glenlivet Distillers and its subsequent takeover by Seagram. Glen Grant was bottled as a single malt as early as the late-19th century, and developed a global export market.
None perhaps as important as in Italy, where their agent in the 1960s, Armando Giovinetti, turned it into the nation's favourite whisky, after discovering the palate preferences of his countrymen for very young single malts. So loved is Glen Grant in Italy, that the distillery is now owned by Gruppo Campari, who bought it from Pernod Ricard in 2006.
The firm was founded in 1797 by Garret Gould, who left his native Ireland for Portugal and established a trading company with offices in both Lisbon and Porto.
Gould Campbell has come to establish a reputation for excellent quality of their Ports and their Vintage Ports in particular.
Situated on a hilltop overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, Grattamacco is in an ideal position to produce some of the finest wines in Italy.
Grattamacco, founded in 1977 by Piermario Meletti Cavallari.
14 hectares of organically farmed vineyards lie over three distinct soil types at 100 meters above sea level.
The Greenock Creek Wines story commenced in 1976 when Michael purchased a 20 acre property at Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley.
In 1994 the Roennfeldt Road property was purchased, consisting of approximately six acres of very old Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache vines, and around eight acres of apricot orchard. The 1995 vintage was the first release of the Roennfeldt Road Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz; wines that were to become the flagship of the Greenock Creek range.
