Most wanted wine estate by region:
The company of Eredi Fuligni boasts a long tradition of Brunello di Montalcino red wine and thanks to the help of Roberto Guerrini, today they are one of the best producers of the Tuscan hills.
In their collection, where the Brunello and Brunello Riserva obviously stand out, there is perhaps a slight loss of body, which is compensated with a great class, which his loyal admirers have appreciated for over 30 years.
Alix de Montille and her brother Etienne have taken the reins of their highly-respected family-estate, following the path of their father Hubert de Montille who took the job in 1947.
The task would be enough for most people but Alix and Etienne opened a second front in 2003 with a Négoce business (Maison Deux Montille) to complement their experience with purchased grapes or must.
Eric and Fabienne Klausener settled in Ticino in 1982 and created an estate.
They cultivate a three hectare area of which half is in Malcantone and the other half in the Lugano area.
A family company founded in 1963 by Engineer Alberto Zuccardi. He began planting vines in Maipu; (province of Mendoza), experimenting with an irrigation system of his own creation based on a method used in California.
The ZUCCARDI range of wines, expresses the essence of the soil, the high altitude vineyards and the extreme conditions where are planted.
Carpineta Fontalpino has been in Cresti's family since the 1960s.
The vineyard is located in the middle of Tuscany, very close to the splendid town of Siena.
The Colombini family has owned property in Brunello di Montalcino since 1352, and they established Fattoria dei Barbi there in 1790.
Galardi emerged as a star wine property in Campania over the past decade years with a series of excellent vintages.
The estate’s flagship wine Terra di Lavoro (80% Aglianico, 20% Piedirosso - bottled unfined and unfiltered after 12 months in 100% new oak) has risen to become one of Italy’s cult wines, and with good reason, as it is consistently great.
Fattoria La Massa can be found hidden amongst the Chianti Classico hills of Panzano in the prestigious “Conca d’Oro,” (Golden Basin). It was acquired by its passionate owner, Giampaolo Motta, in 1992.
La Massa produces three wines: the flagship Super Tuscan Giorgio Primo IGT (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot); the second wine La Massa IGT (predominantly Sangiovese, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot); and launched in 2014 the Carla VI (100% Sangiovese).
Villa Le Corti Estates extend over 250 hectares of land, 49 of which are vineyards planted with Sangiovese to produce Chianti Classico and IGT Principe Corsini (Don Tommaso, Cortevecchia, Le Corti, and Zac).
Head to New Zealand to discover the delicate, biodynamic wines crafted by Nigel Greening who puts all his knowledge aquired in regions (Oregon and Burgundy) where Pinot Noir is king to use.
France is not the only country where a love of the terroir encourages winegrowers to adopt biodynamic practices, as has been demonstrated by the Felton Road domaine in Central Otago New Zealand since 2002. For twenty years, Nigel Greening's vineyard, which is split between four outstanding parcels, has been producing authentic, delicate wines while respecting the soil and vines. These wines set a benchmark, as is demonstrated by their 13th position in the Drinks International magazine rankings.
