"Domìni Veneti is the name used for the best wines in the winery’s range. These wines are named after the lands ruled by the Serenissima Republic of Venice in the 16th century when it was at the height of its power. The Valpolicella area came under its rule around that time. "

Dominique Laurent doesn't own any vines (except a tiny Chardonnay plot in Meursault), and he depends on the wines that he can buy from growers. He pays a premium for old-vine cuvées and enriches these wines according to a formula that relies heavily on aging the wine on the lees for an extended period before bottling. Dominique Laurent's wines are expensive, but he has earned a spot in the top tier of Burgundy producers.

Chiara Boschis is a true protagonist among the small, but driven group of women winemakers in the Langhe. Coming from a long lineage of viticulturists, she took the reins of E. Pira & Figli in 1990. Her parents purchased the estate in 1981 from an old wine producing family who had no heirs to take over the property. While she never wanted to change the winery’s name, she tastefully added her own. Her goal from the beginning has been to seamlessly unite the astonishing potential of Barolo, with approachable elegance, and bold, intense aromas.
She achieves this goal, vintage after vintage, through rigorous vineyard management, meticulous selection, and impeccable vinification techniques such as shortened maceration, malolactic fermentation in stainless steel and aging in big oak barrels or barriques. In 2010, her brother, Giorgio joined her, and they now run this historical small wine cellar together.
Today, the estate’s extremely limited production is crafted from eight and a half hectares of vineyards. Located only amongst the best hills of Monforte d'Alba, Serralunga d'Alba and Barolo, the family still cultivates a small plot in the famed Cannubi vineyard. The resulting wines are some of the most refined and delicate wines in Italy. Their collection is envied by many.
Edge Hill is one of Napa’s Valley’s most historical and treasured winery properties. The original 1500 acres was settled by General Erasmus Keyes after serving in the Civil War (rising to Brigadier General and leading Keyes’s Brigade at the First Battle of Bull Run in 1861). He had a personal letter signed by Abraham Lincoln providing the deed to this particular property.
Edge Hill wines are produced in extremely limited quantities; each wine typically is between 100 and 200 cases (total production each year is often around 700 cases).

Clos la Néore: the ultimate expression of Sauvignon Blanc, a legendary rarity from Chavignol.
A legendary estate in Chavignol
Located in the village of Chavignol, Domaine Edmond Vatan is a cult reference in the Loire. Founded by Edmond Vatan, it is now run by his daughter Anne Vatan-Foucault, continuing a tradition of minimalist excellence.
An exceptional terroir: Clos la Néore

Elio Altare Winery: A Leader in Barolo Wine Production
Introduction to Elio Altare Winery
Elio Altare is one of the most renowned winemakers in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy. His winery, located in La Morra, is celebrated for producing exceptional Barolo wines that embody the unique terroir of the region. Elio took over the family estate from his father and, together with his daughter Silvia, cultivates wines with sustainable practices and without the use of pesticides or chemical treatments. The winery is committed to traditional values combined with modern, innovative winemaking techniques.
Sustainable Practices and Modern Winemaking
Elio Altare has revolutionized winemaking in Barolo since the 1970s by adopting modern Burgundy-inspired techniques. His estate uses organic farming methods and natural vinification processes. This includes the use of indigenous yeasts and the rejection of exogenous yeast additions. The winemaking process is also characterized by a careful balance between traditional and modern practices, such as fermenting in stainless steel vats and aging in small French oak barrels instead of traditional large barrels.
The Terroir of Barolo
Located in La Morra, a prestigious commune in the Barolo wine region, Elio Altare's vineyards benefit from well-drained, calcareous soils that are ideal for Nebbiolo grapes. The winery’s vineyards are positioned on the slopes of La Morra, facing south, with the renowned Arborina vineyard being a standout site.
