Vaudieu is the flagship of the family. It spreads its 70 ha on the best terroirs of the appellation, and what strikes: everything is grouped in one piece. Vaudieu is, since centuries, one of of the patterns of Châteauneuf du pape. Thanks to the Brechet family, it is about to find again its former glory.

Château du Cèdre: Excellence and Innovation in Cahors Wines

Château du Cèdre is a renowned winery located in the Cahors appellation, in the heart of South-Western France. Since its founding in 1973, the estate has become a key player in the wine industry of the Lot region, known for the exceptional quality of its red wines, primarily made from the Malbec grape variety.

    History of Château du Cèdre

The estate was founded by Léon Verhaeghe, a Belgian immigrant, who settled in the Lot region in the 1950s. His son, Charles Verhaeghe, later took over the winery and began replanting vines on the rocky terroirs of Cahors. Today, the Verhaeghe brothers, Pascal and Jean-Marc, grandsons of Léon and both trained oenologists, continue the family legacy, maintaining a strong commitment to quality and innovation.

    Commitment to Organic Viticulture

Château du Cèdre was a pioneer in adopting organic viticulture practices in the Cahors region. The estate received its organic certification in 2012, implementing environmentally-friendly practices to produce wines that truly reflect the richness and diversity of the terroir.

By combining tradition and innovation, Château du Cèdre continues to uphold the reputation of Cahors wines and affirms its place among the finest wine producers in South-Western France.

  • Château du Moulin-à-Vent

Château du Moulin-à-Vent, named for the 300-year-old stone windmill atop the hill of Les Thorins, dates back to 1732, when it was called Château des Thorins. Today, the estate encompasses 37 hectares (91.4 acres) of the appellation’s finest climats — Les Vérillats, Le Champ de Cour, La Rochelle — planted to Gamay Noir averaging 40 years in age. The underlying granite soil is rich in iron oxide, copper and manganese, which may account for the wines’ aging potential. Between Pétrus and Cheval Blanc, pure elegance in a bottle.

A jewel on the Pomerol plateau
Château L’Évangile is one of the most prestigious names on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Nestled between two iconic estates — Pétrus to the north and Cheval Blanc to the south — it benefits from an exceptional terroir shared by only a handful of producers.

Its soils, rich in deep clay and fine gravel, give rise to wines of silky texture, remarkable aromatic depth, and outstanding aging potential.

    A noble blend

    • Merlot (70%) – the heart of the style, with voluptuous texture and dense dark fruit.

    • Cabernet Franc (30%) – brings floral lift, tension, and length.

The blend reflects both the terroir and the estate’s vision: wines of great elegance, precision, and structure.

    The wine style
Château L’Évangile is not about power — it’s about refinement. On the nose: violet, black truffle, blackberry, and hints of exotic wood.
On the palate: poise, balance, and long, noble persistence.

    Key vintages to watch

    • 2015 – Brilliant purity of fruit, masterful balance.

    • 2020 – Promising and intense, with great potential.

    A committed estate
Certified organic since 2021, Château L’Évangile embraces biodiversity through cover crops, beehives, and a parcel-by-parcel approach. A transition to biodynamic practices is also underway.

    High-precision winemaking

    • Parcel-by-parcel vinification in temperature-controlled concrete vats.

    • Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new.

    • A second wine, Blason de L’Évangile, offers a more approachable expression of the estate.

Why choose a bottle of Château L’Évangile?

    • For its purity of style — never heavy, always refined.

    • For its close qualitative ties to Pomerol’s greatest, at a (still) more accessible price.

    • For its consistent excellence at the table and in the cellar.

    • For its limited production and global demand.

A world-class Pomerol — perfect to gift or to treasure.

  • Château Figeac

    Château Figeac – Saint-Émilion
A Premier Grand Cru Classé A with a unique identity, balancing structure and elegance.

One of the most iconic estates on Bordeaux’s Right Bank

In 2022, it was elevated to Premier Grand Cru Classé A, joining the elite ranks of Bordeaux’s finest châteaux.

A rare gravel terroir in Saint-Émilion
Unlike most of its neighbors, Figeac’s 54 hectares lie on deep gravel soils, more typical of the Médoc. This exceptional terroir allows for an unusual Right Bank blend:

    • 35% Cabernet Sauvignon

    • 35% Cabernet Franc

    • 30% Merlot

The result is a wine with precision, energy, and remarkable aging potential.

    Style of the wine
Elegant, structured, and complex. Figeac offers aromas of black fruit, violet, graphite, and cedar, with a silky texture and long, mineral finish.

It’s a wine for collectors and connoisseurs seeking refined, intellectual Bordeaux with a soul.
