  • rhys vineyards

Rhys Vineyards was founded in 2004 by Kevin Harvey, a passionate wine collector who frequented the vineyards of Burgundy and became close friends with a number of families behind the top domaines of the Cotes d’Or.

At Rhys Vineyards they aspire to make great Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah from some of California’s most unique and expressive vineyards.

  • Ridge Vineyard

Ridge Monte Bello, once pure Cabernet, has been a Cabernet-dominated blend since 1975 with varying quantities, depending on the vintage, of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc to add complexity to the final wine.

The Monte Bello Chardonnay, arguably California's most respected white wine, is elegantly structured and rivals the finest White Burgundy Grand Crus.

In 2006, Paul Draper is named winemaker of the year.

  • Riedel

Master glassmakers for 250 years, the Riedel Family has always been a leader in terms of wine glasses.

  • Rivers-Marie

Since 2002 Rivers-Marie has quietly been producing limited production premium wines including Pinot Noir; their first vintage was from the Summa Vineyard on the dead-end Taylor Lane near the town of Occidental in neighboring Sonoma County. This vineyard produced the first 100-point Pinot Noir from California in 1991 when it was a Williams Selyem vineyard designate. Today the vineyard is owned by Rivers-Marie. Later they added Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon to their portfolio.

  • Roagna

This story begins in the mid-1800s when Vincenzo Roagna was one of a small group pioneering winemakers who started producing Barbaresco in the form as we know today, in the town of the same name. The estate has passed through the family and is now run by Luca Roagna, the family’s fifth generation winemaker, and his father Alfredo.

Roagna’s wines are released later than most in Piedmont, spending between five and eight years in cask. One of Luca’s most impactful changes to the estate’s winemaking approach was to introduce the highest quality French oak casks that are 10cm thick; twice that of a standard cask. These thicker casks enable an unhurried micro-oxygenation, which enhances the elegance of the finished product.

Long ageing, wild yeast and long macerations capture the essence of their terroir, which is expressed in the bottle. Roagna produces deep, complex and structured wines that are built to age, and cellaring is generously rewarded. These are beguiling, intense and soulful wines.

  • Robert Chevillon

Domaine Robert Chevillon is now run by Robert’s sons Bertrand and Denis Chevillon.

Similarly to their neighbours at Domaine Henri Gouges, the Chevillons possess a fine series of premiers crus vineyards, predominantly located in the heart of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation.

  • Roberto Voerzio

Based in La Morra, Roberto started in the 1980s with five hectares.

He makes tiny quantities from a number of top vineyards (La Serra, Cerequio, Fossati Case Nere, Sarmassa), which have been planted at high density levels.

  • Roc d'Anglade

Situated in Languedoc, the Domain Roc d'Anglade extends over 10 ha and offers wines with a freshness and a respect for the fruit.

Wines Roc d'Anglade express an identity of the soil. For 10 years, it is Rémy Pedreno who took back the domain. The vineyard Roc d'Anglade is cultivated in bio and wines are certified.

  • Rocche dei Manzoni

The vineyards of Podere Rocche Dei Manzoni are all situated within the municipality of Monforte d'Alba.

“The estate's Barolos are made in a sleek, modern style, with 100% new French oak aging. The wines typically require some bottle age to absorb their oak component. In time, the wines always express the qualities of their respective Monforte terrroirs. I have consistently been thrilled with how vintages like 1978, 1982 and 1989 have developed, and only wish I had a deeper collection of the wines in my cellar.”
