Gérald Clavien - Cave les Deux Crêtes is a top boutique winery delivering 98% of its production to gastronomy restaurants, five star hotels and palaces.
Gérald Clavien worked as a Top Chef in Michelin rated restaurants in Europe and in the US before taking over the family business in the early 80’s. As a fine gastronome, his wines are made to be appreciated with modern fine food.
Ghislaine Barthod's domaine originates in the 1920s with Marcel Noëllat whose daughter married Gaston Barthod.
The strength of the domaine is the range of Chambolle wines, with eight separate premier cru bottlings. The best examples can age gracefully for up to twenty years.
“Managed by Davide Rosso, son of the late Giovanni Rosso, this winery has become a shining star over the past ten years. If you believe that Barolo needs a decade or so to become drinkable, you need to taste the offerings of Giovanni Rosso, as these are among the most approachable Barolos from Serralunga d’Alba. This is another traditional producer, maturing his wines in large casks; that combined with fruit from several excellent sites in Serralunga, are the keys to the high quality of these wines. […] While these wines are more approachable upon release than many Barolo from Serralunga, make no mistake; they age well, often with peak drinking at 15-20 years of age.”
– Tom Hyland on Giovanni Rosso, Forbes, March 2020
According to Robert Parker : “ This is one of the sensational estates in Rasteau with proprietor Jerome Bressy farming just over 20 acres of vines. Organic farming and naturally low yields of the old vines result in wines of extraordinary concentration and intensity.“
Alain Jaume is the 5th generation of winegrowers in Chateauneuf du Pape. He created in 1976 Domaine Grand Veneur.
Alain Jaume Domaine Grand Veneur owns 16 hectares of vines in the Chateauneuf du Pape region. Aside from their vines in Chateauneuf du Pape, Domaine Grand Veneur has plantings in Lirac and in the Cotes du Rhone appellations.
Domaine Jean Grivot is among the great names in Burgundian wine.
The domaine has been assembled over several generations to its current size of 15.5 hectares and includes holdings in three grand crus: Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, and Richebourg.
This property, run by Bernard Gros, is one of three wine domaines owned by the Gros family.
They have been wine growers in Vosne-Romanée since 1830. The estate has 21 hectares and displays 4 grands crus, Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, Echezeaux Grands Echezeaux.
His Clos Vougeot-Musigni for example, is at the premier top of the cru just beneath the slope of Musigny, hence the name.
The Boillots have been farming in Burgundy since 1885. The sheer quality of Domaine Boillot wines, including the impressive and exclusive Les Mouchères monopole, is testimony to the assiduous work they have done in both the vineyards and cellar.
Henri Bonneau remains a legend to most Chateauneuf du Pape fans. He was the last of the old timers.
The first vintage produced by Henri Bonneau was the 1956. Henri Bonneau was still making wine in the Southern Rhone Valley until he was in his 70’s.
Practically all the vineyards in the Henri Cruchon estate, created in 1976, are cultivated biodynamically, while the remaining land is cultivated by integrated production methods.
This domaine began life in 1973 when Henri Germain – from the same family as Domaine Château de Chorey-les Beaune – decided to set up on his own – it was easier to buy vines in those days.
The domaine produces 75% white wine, the reds include Bourgogne rouge, Beaune Bressandes and a Meursault red ‘Clos des Mouche’ – a villages monopole of half a hectare of old vines that looks towards Volnay.
