Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis wine is produced in the commune of Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy.

The five Grands Crus form a continuous band across the commune, located immediately above the Route des Grands Crus and the village itself : Clos de la Roche, Clos de Tart, Clos Saint-Denis, Clos des Lambrays, Bonnes Mares.

Clos de la Roche is a Grand Cru vineyard (or climat) and corresponding appellation of the Cote de Nuits sub-region in Burgundy.

The Clos de la Roche was granted Grand Cru status in December 1936, based on the quality of its terroir.

Classic Clos de la Roche wines are more powerful and more deeply flavored than those from neighboring vineyards.
Clos de Tart

Clos de Tart is a Grand Cru vineyard (or climat) and corresponding appellation of the Cote de Nuits sub-region in Burgundy.

It has been a monopole since its creation in the middle of the 12th century. The Mommessin family bought the domaine and its vines in 1932, just before the official creation of Burgundy's Grand Cru appellations.

Clos de Tart wines that do not meet the Grand Cru standards are sold as La Forge Premier Cru.
Clos Saint-Denis

Clos Saint-Denis is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) and Grand Cru vineyard for red wine in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy, with Pinot noir as the main grape variety

The vineyards are adjacent to Clos de la Roche and planted on a clay-limestone soil with a mixture of iron oxide.
