Clos de la Roche 2016 - Domaine Lecheneaut

Tasting notes

"A highly complex, ripe and very fresh nose mixes a variety of red berries, underbrush and earth, all of which is again trimmed in enough wood to notice. The equally muscular, textured, powerful and impressively precise large-scaled flavors display first-rate length on the balanced and palate coating finish. This isn't quite as concentrated as the Pruliers but there's just more depth though once again, the prominent tannic spine is going to need extended aging to soften."

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

Founded in 1960 by Fernand Lécheneaut, the domaine started out with two and a half hectares of vineyards divided among the communes of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, and Morey-Saint-Denis.

In 1985, Fernand passed away and his sons Philippe and Vincent took over. Their father had always sold wine in barrel and when the brothers took over, they were the first to bottle, making 1985 the first vintage with the Domaine Lécheneaut label.
