"The family's prestigious 2017 Bremmer Calmont Fachkaul Riesling GG displays a clear, crystalline, flinty, intense but also refined and concentrated bouquet of crunchy-smoky slate and even lemony-tinged limestone (even though there is not even a hint of limestone in the soil). On the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich and salty, vibrantly fresh and mineral, crystalline but also rocky or somewhat wild Riesling with great finesse and a Gewürztraminer-like warmth. The finish is pure, fresh, salty, highly stimulating and complex, with fine tannins and crystalline salinity that lingers and lingers and intertwines with perfectly ripe Riesling berries. A fabulous, impressive wine."
