  • Azienda Agricola Le Macchiole

Le Macchiole is located on the Bolgherese road, at around 5 km from the sea in the heart of the Bolgheri Doc area. It extends over 22 hectares, with high density plantation and low yields (“one bottle of wine per vine”).

They produce four red wines Messorio, Paleo, Scrio, Bolgheri Rosso DOC and 1 white wine Paleo Bianco, with a total production of around 100.000 bottles per year.

  • Azienda Agricola Palari

The winemaking philosophy under Salvatore Geraci is simple: make two wines with the same indigenous grapes but with different selections.

His Rosso del Soprano, a blend based on a wine known in antiquity as Mamertino, comes from the native nerello mascalese, nerello cappuccio, and nocera grapes.

The primary wine to be featured from Palari is Faro. Here the wine includes a finer selection of the same grapes to make this a Tre Bicchieri winner. Faro (which means lighthouse) is a little DOC, almost the smallest in Italy

  • Azienda Agricola Planeta

Planeta Winery is one of the premier wine estates of Sicily, and a veritable fine wine empire.

Planeta was founded in the 1990’s by cousins Alessio, and Santi Planeta and their uncle Diego Planeta.

Planeta are in fact regularly lauded in the wine press and this year they receive an unprecedented eight Tre Bicchieri awards from the Gambero Rosso

  • azienda agricola poliziano

Poliziano was started in 1961 with an initial nucleus of 22 hectares. It has grown over the years to reach its present size of 120 hectares, all planted in vineyards.

Its name is an homage to the humanist poet Angelo Ambrogini (1454-1494), known as "Il Poliziano", who was born in Montepulciano.

  • Balvenie

Balvenie was built by William Grant in 1892 and remains part of his family's company to this day.

In the early part of its history, its purpose was primarily for the provision of malt for Grant's blends, however following the global success of Glenfiddich, the Balvenie single malt brand was launched in 1973. It remained a rarity though, and it was not until the opening of Kininvie in 1990, and later Ailsa Bay in Girvan, that the distillery was given the freedom to focus on its single malt. Today it is one of the best recognised brands in the world.

As a result, independent bottlings are especially rare.

  • Barros Port

Established in the beginning of the century, Barros Porto is undoubtedly, one of the most prestigious Companies producing and trading Port Wine.

Barros porto is today, and since 2006, part of the Sogevinus Group.

  • Ben Glaetzer

The relationship with the Glaetzer winery began with the release of Ben Glaetzer's 2001 Amon Ra Shiraz.

The Glaetzer philosophy focuses simply on the production of small-volume, super premium wines.

  • Benoît Dorsaz

Born in a winemaker family, Benoît Dorsaz inherits a first vineyard of Chasselas in 1968.

  • Benoît Ente

Having begun back in 1999, Benoit Ente has certainly proved his worth as one of Puligny- Montrachet’s most exciting wine producers.

The vineyards were all planted by his grandfather in the 1950s, which has enabled Benoit to benefit from grapes from old vines.

  • Bérèche & Fils

A historic grower-producer established back in 1847. They have built up their holdings to 9.5 hectares, most of which are dotted around the Montagne de Reims area. Parents Jean-Pierre and Catherine now work alongside their sons, Raphael and Vincent.

Their ethos is focused on working with nature rather than against it. They don't use herbicides, and pesticides are only used in the direst circumstances.

Their vineyards are located across three identifiable parcels. In the Montagne de Reims they have plots in Ludes 1er Cru, Chigny Les Roses 1er Cru, Trepail 1er Cru, and Ormes, all planted to three grape varieties. In the Marne they have land in the crus of Mareuil le Port and Festigny. These areas are planted to Pinot Meunier and chardonnay.

They make their wines using 'elevage sous liege', where the second fermentation takes place under cork instead of a crown capsule. It is believed that cork allows slightly more oxygen to get to the wine during the second fermentation, producing a Champagne with finer bubbles and seamless texture.

  • Bernard Burgaud

Bernard Burgaud produces only one wine, their Côte Rôtie, that comes from several lieux-dits, including Côte Blonde, Champin, Leyat, Fongeant, Les Moutonnes and Brosse.

The wine is 100% Syrah (with no Viognier planted in the vineyards) and the grapes are entirely destemmed. Aging is in mainly used barrels.
