Most wanted wine estate by region:
Gilles is the 3rd generation of this family domaine. He began at domaine in 1982 and has run the domaine completely since 1998. The domaine owns 10 ha 50 of vineyards.
Jean Boillot & Fils is a 30-acre domaine in Volnay. It is run by Henri Boillot, son of Jean and brother of Jean-Marc of Pommard. The estate is almost entirely Premier Crus.
The Premier Cru parcels are in Volnay, Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune, Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, which includes the monopole Clos de la Mouchere. Clive Coates calls it an “impressive estate…the results are fine.”
Established in 1859 by the cooper-craftsman Jean-Edouard Dupard, Domaine Jean Chartron has been governed by four generations concerned with both the expansion and prosperity of the prestigious vineyards as the management of the rural district.
Domaine Jean Tardy is now recognised as one of the leading producers in the Côte d'Or today.
The Domaine’s wines offer a certain charm as Guillaume seeks to find perfection, striving for the aromatic qualities he so covets. Guillaume also crafts a brilliant Echezeaux Grand Cru, made from 75 year-old vines – a wine that has propelled this young winemaker in both stature and respect from other winemakers and Pinot Noir drinkers alike.
Domaine Trapet Père et Fils is one of the greatest estates of Gevrey-Chambertin, with superb holdings in three of the top grand crus in the village.
The vineyards have been fully farmed under biodynamic principles since 1996, and are 100% certified biodynamic as of 2009.
Jean-Marc Boillot is a grandson of Etienne Sauzet, and was previously winemaker for Olivier Leflaive.
Jean-Marc Boillot has 10.5 hectares of vines in the Côte de Beaune which include vineyards previously owned by Domaine Sauzet in Puligny.
Anne-Marie and Jean-Marc Vincent inherited most of their vines, principally located in and around the village of Santenay in the southern Côte de Beaune, from Jean-Marc’s grandfather, André Bardollet-Bravard.
Jean-Marc together with his wife Anne-Marie have run this domaine since 1997.
Its 5 hectares produce an average 25,000 bottles per year.
Jonata is owned by the same folks that steer Screaming Eagle and is priced at a fraction of its big sister’s label.
Jonata’s wines are carefully crafted by winemaker Matt Dees to maximize the tannin structure while keeping a fine focus on the Bordeaux and Rhone blends.
The Jonata Winery makes its home in the Santa Ynez Valley on over 600 acres.
Jonathan is the fifth generation of Pabiot’s to have toiled the soils of Pouilly.
He headed to Faugères and did a stage at Domaine Léon Barral.
He returned to Les Loges in 2006 and, with 2.5 hectares of vines granted to him by his father, and a further one hectare which he rented, Jonathan produced his first wine.
This diversity in soils ensures that there is real diversity in the style of the different cuvées, and the variation in sites acts as an insurance policy against the perpetual threats of frost and hail.
Settled in Alsace, Domaine Josmeyer is founded in 1854 by Aloyse Meyer, a noted restaurateur and gourmet.
The vineyards account for 28 hectares of vines with various grape varieties as Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Sylvaner, Muscat & Pinot Noir settled on 5 different terroirs.
Since 2000, the whole vineyard is run according to organic (certified AB in 2004) and biodynamic principles.
