Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Encegnieres Jean Claude Bachelet 2014

Tasting notes

...moderate wood frames the appealingly fresh aromas of pear, apple, citrus blossom and a curious hint of white truffle. There is fine richness to the relatively full-bodied and overtly sappy flavors that possess good power and punch on the beautifully complex and lingering finish. This is an excellent Chassagne villages that should be capable of amply rewarding 5 to 8 years of cellaring. In a word, lovely.

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

Jean-Baptiste Bachelet and his brother, Benoit farm biodynamically, although the winery is not certified.

The white wines are matured in wooden barriques, of which around 10% are new. Bachelet's wines are exceptionally well balanced and display understated citrus and mineral characteristics. They possess good medium-term ageing potential.
