Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles Jean Claude Bachelet 2014

Tasting notes

"Once again there is enough wood present to remark upon setting off the penetrating nose of petrol, resin, white orchard fruit and discreet citrus nuances. The round and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors possess a bit more volume but somewhat surprisingly a bit less overall depth and length. In sum this is certainly attractive in its fashion but the Encégnières appears to have slightly more overall potential."

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

Jean-Baptiste Bachelet and his brother, Benoit farm biodynamically, although the winery is not certified.

The white wines are matured in wooden barriques, of which around 10% are new. Bachelet's wines are exceptionally well balanced and display understated citrus and mineral characteristics. They possess good medium-term ageing potential.
