Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 2008 - Henri Germain et fils

Tasting notes

"An unusually elegant and restrained nose that is both airy and orchard fruit-based leads to rich, full, naturally sweet and attractively fleshy flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration and better detail than one typically finds in Morgeot, all wrapped in a dry, citrusy and palate staining finish. As attractive as those attributes are however, what really distinguishes the '08 version of Germain's Morgeot is the level of complexity. Worth considering."

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

This domaine began life in 1973 when Henri Germain – from the same family as Domaine Château de Chorey-les Beaune – decided to set up on his own – it was easier to buy vines in those days.

The domaine produces 75% white wine, the reds include Bourgogne rouge, Beaune Bressandes and a Meursault red ‘Clos des Mouche’ – a villages monopole of half a hectare of old vines that looks towards Volnay.
