Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 2007 - domaine Ramonet

Tasting notes
Vinous: Stephen Tanzer

"Pale yellow. Captivating, vibrant aromas of lemon, white flowers, stone, menthol, tarragon and spices. Dense with extract but at the same time penetrating, with lovely mineral cut enlivening the racy lime and lemon flavors. Showed a honeyed spice character after 24 hours in the recorked bottle but I never would have guessed Morgeot. This big, dry, sharply delineated Chassagne tastes like a high-altitude wine."

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

The undisputed master of Chassagne-Montrachet. Although Ramonet is best known for white wines—and rightly so—this producer's red Clos Saint-Jean is superb wine with eye-opening depth and character, as is the red Clos de la Boudriotte.
