Chassagne-Montrachet Les Ruchottes 1997 - Ramonet (double magnum, 3 l)

Tasting notes

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Elegant, ripe and pure rosemary and crushed herb-infused aromas lead to structured, intense, impressively dense flavors of real depth, sap and length. This is an atypical '97 in that there is solid acid backbone yet with excellent balance and though this is not yet especially complex, this should continue to improve over the next 2 to 4 years, perhaps longer depending on how the acidity softens with time. Approachable now but definitely better with another few years of bottle age. " (06/2015)

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

The undisputed master of Chassagne-Montrachet. Although Ramonet is best known for white wines—and rightly so—this producer's red Clos Saint-Jean is superb wine with eye-opening depth and character, as is the red Clos de la Boudriotte.
