Clos Rougeard Brézé 2006 - Frères Foucault

Tasting notes

"Honeysuckle, lanolin, honeydew melon, and bittersweet floral perfume rise from the glass of Clos Rougeard 2006 Saumur Breze, which displays a cooling as well as soothing palate wreathed in high-toned herbs and floral essences; tinged with bitterness of quinine; and brimming with juicy melon. Alkaline and mollusk-like suggestions of things mineral lend mystery to a long finish."

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

The estate encompasses 10 hectares and the brothers use organic farming methods, limiting yields and only harvesting once the grapes have reached perfect maturity.

They produce three red cuvées:

the Poyeux, wines with great scope and wonderful finesse with a beautiful deep ruby shade and the Bourg cuvée, a refined, dense wine that is aged in new oak barrels for 18 to 24 months.

As for whites, the Brezé cuvée is now one of the best white wines in the Loire Valley.
