"(...) The firm tannins are those of the torrid 2003 vintage, yet this broad-shouldered, expansive wine has more than enough fruit to provide balance. Notes of chocolate, leather, coffee and sweet spices gradually emerge with air, yet this remains a backward, unyielding wine at the moment. (...)"

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

Romano Dal Forno only established his estate in 1983.

From 8 hectares of vineyard this vigneron-winemaker gets the best out of the Corvina and Rondinella varieties with small yields and rigorous selection during the harvesting.

The house speciality is Amarone, but he makes Valpolicella with the same care as well.

The fruit from the estate's younger vines goes into the Valpolicella, while Amarone is made from vineyards that range from 10 to 30 years of age.

"What is Amarone della Valpolicella to you ? A wine that you cannot discuss. It's an emotion, and emitions cannot be discussed".
