The 2014 Cornalin by Denis Mercier impresses with its intensity and balance between power and elegance. Its deep red color hints at an expressive nose dominated by aromas of morello cherry, blackberry, and raspberry, complemented by notes of mint, green pepper, and subtle oak. On the palate, the attack is refined, with fine, well-structured tannins, lively acidity, and a beautiful minerality. Hints of licorice and a long, woody finish add further complexity. A sophisticated wine that reaches its full potential after a few years of aging.

Denis and Anne-Catherine Mercier have been operating a splendid 5-hectare estate since 1982.

With a lot of artisanal care, they produce exemplary and typical wines from the range of Valais grape varieties.

They have a strong preference for well-structured red wines like Syrah and Cornalin.

The Mercier estate is also among the fifty companies listed in the “memory of Swiss wines” association for its cornalin.
