Tignanello 1993 - Marchesi Antinori

Tasting notes

"The 1993 Tignanello reveals gorgeous notes of cedar, tobacco and sweet herbs that waft from the glass, along with slight notes of oxidation that are also present. This is a medium-bodied Tignanello and at this point the wine’s structural components appear to be dominating over the fading fruit in the wine’s balance. Despite its slender personality, this is a delicate, elegant wine, but it is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. (...)"

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

Marchesi Antinori is one of Italy's most prestigious wine estates, founded in 1385. Renowned worldwide, it is particularly famous for its flagship wines: Tignanello, Solaia, and Guado al Tasso.

Tignanello is a groundbreaking wine from Tuscany, made from a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. It was the first wine in the region to use non-traditional varieties and the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, giving it exceptional depth and complexity.

Solaia, produced only in great vintages, is a prestigious wine made from the finest Tignanello vineyards. It is predominantly made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, cultivated in a unique terroir at high altitudes with calcareous and clay soils, resulting in a wine of exceptional richness and structure.

Guado al Tasso, first produced in 1990, represents Antinori's innovation in the Bolgheri wine region. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc highlights the diversity of the Bolgheri terroir with its complex aromas and elegant character.

The best vintages of these wines are from 2010, 2009, 1997, and 1985, particularly sought after for their quality and exceptional aging potential.

Marchesi Antinori continues to shape the history of winemaking with wines of great distinction, and these wines remain essential for collectors and enthusiasts.
